Now close your eyes and relax....

Good day.

This week we were asked to listen to an exercise. Unlike last week I was able to relax and allow my mind to drift. However I went to far and fell asleep. Ughhhh, I wish I could find a happy medium. I am really interested in training my mind and have taken steps to do so but I just don't know how to deal with my brain. I would imagine that this is very beneficial to a lot of people and i wish i was one of them. It is very discouraging to not be able to figure out your own brain. I am aware it will take time and i will continue to workout my brain. I know from the research that it shows very positive results both short term and long term. I look forward to reaching my goals of being able to have a nice clear mind. I look forward to being able to think clearly and focus better.

    If I may offer you some advice...sometimes it is better to meditate in the morning. I prefer afternoons but as my schedule gets more hectic I am sure I will have to adjust. I am glad that you were able to relax your mind a little easier this time but I am sorry you fell asleep. Keep on trying to do these relaxation exercises. I am sure they will be more beneficial than you realize. Good luck!

    Meditation, once you find your happy medium, is wonderful. When I first started this several months ago, I used to fall asleep all the time. What I found beneficial is that when I felt as though I was drowsy, I would open my eyes just for a brief second and then reign myself back in to the listening exercise. Also, I found it to be beneficial to sit in a relaxed position rather than lying down. May these trick help you out. I know you will love it once you get the hang of it...don't give up! It is worth the work!!

    I am right there with you about finding the happy medium. I was told that I need to just breath more. So I did and got light headed. My friend told me that there is a special of "happy mediums" at walmart so I am just going to go by one later to day. Take care and good luck.

    I feel the same as you but last week was easier for me than this week. I wanted to fall asleep, but it was shorter so I didn't. When I did practice this exercise I had to shorten it. It says if 15 minuets is too long to cut it to 5-10. That is necessary for me right now. After 7 minuets or so I am back at the antzy mental state if Im still trying to "relax", or Im asleep. Im dealing with the struggles as they come, and the only thing that will help in my opinion is to try more often. The early morning does seem like the best option for me, because im still relaxed from sleeping, but alert enough to hopefully have power over my thoughts. I wish you the best and im sure you will accomplish your clear mind just keep trying!!! :)

  5. Shay, I'm sorry you are having such a hard time finding your medium, but I have to admit that it made me laugh and it also made me jealous. At least you got some restful sleep, which is something I crave right now. I tried, bit I just couldn't let myself fall asleep - too much to do. So perhaps it was a good thing. Good luck! Elena
